Applied Engineering Technology: The student completes Assessment Activities at the end of each Learning Plan. The first part of the assessment is usually a Checkpoint. The Checkpoint is a closed-book objective test that consists of multiple choice, fill in the blank, and True/False questions. It is completed in the Lab. The student grades the Checkpoint so he gets immediate feedback on how he did. He can look up the answers to any questions that he missed. The second part of the assessment is a Performance Assessment. The form of the Performance Assessment varies widely based on the competency that is being covered in the Learning Plan. They may be open-book or closed-book. The overview of the Learning Plan describes the Performance Assessment so the student can tailor his study activities to the eventual assessment task. They are graded by the Instructor. Examples of Performance Assessments include:
